My wife and I are so happy that we decided to go with Skylar Group to build our home. I had spent several weeks researching custom builders online and many of them had good reviews, came highly recommended and appeared to be promising. We had reached out a couple of builders and requested time with them to go over our plans and see if they were a good fit. We met with several builders and went over what we wanted our dream home to be. The builders all told us how excited they were to work with us and would look over the plans and get back with us. We spent the next couple of weeks waiting to hear back from any one of the builders we met, only to realize they weren’t going to call back. When we reached back out to them, we were given the excuse that they had planned to call in a day or two, but were too busy. We realized then that these were not the builders for us.

I just happened to drive by this beautiful home that had just been built and out front was a sign that read “Skylar Group”. I had never heard of them, but was taken away by how great this home looked. After researching Skylar Group I gave them a call and spoke with the owner, Joe. I explained to Joe that we were interested in building a home and would like to meet with him. Joe set up a time to meet and even came to us even though we lived almost two hours away. Joe and his team sat down with us and went over our house plan. Joe told us how he liked our house plan and was excited to be the one to build it for us. Joe called back within the week extremely well prepared with detailed plans and pricing for our custom home. Joe and his team began working harder than any team I have ever worked with before. Communication is one of Joe’s best qualities. He is literally only one phone call or text away. We faced several challenges financially throughout our build. Joe was always positive and told us how he was going to help make everything work out. I can say that Joe is a man of his word. He was always on top of each contractor that came to do their portion of the build, ensured they were on schedule and the quality of the work was nothing short of perfection. I was blown away during the build that Joe was sending me weekly updates and photos of the house during each step.

Having Skylar Group and Joe build our home can only be summed up as a blessing. When myself and my wife began the process of building we were so excited and then after being let down by other builders we lost some of that excitement. Joe definitely made our excitement come back and the experience of building our forever home became one we will not forget. The high quality workmanship and care he provides is second to none. If you are looking to build a “house” then I recommend hiring any general contractor, however, if you are looking for someone to build a HOME that you can be proud of and raise your family in then Skylar Group should be your only choice.
